Inaugural volume in preparation · Call for papers open
A journal for research that has to work in the field, not only on the page. It publishes original science and engineering alongside the applied work that carries it into use — the trial that failed, the process that scaled, the technology that met a real constraint and had to be redesigned.
Northern Uganda is not short of problems worth solving. Agriculture under a shifting climate, water and sanitation, energy access, disease surveillance, post-harvest loss. The journal is built for the researchers already working on them, wherever they are based.

The globe is the journal's standing interest, but continental and regional enquiry is equally welcome. Local research is not a smaller ambition; it is often the more difficult one.
